Daniel Lozano, Founder of Linera Tech
I've spent 30 years in technology, more than 25 of them in leadership roles, including VP of Technology at a SaaS company and a decade as senior application architect for a healthcare organization. Linera Tech is a DBA of The Zane Software, Inc., the consulting company I've run since 2006.
What I've built
As VP of Application Development at a financial services firm, I led a team of 13 developers. More recently, I owned development, security, and IT together for two SaaS platforms.
As an architect, I designed a multi-tenant SaaS platform for sales compensation where pages, filters, forms, and dashboards are defined as database configuration rather than code. Each customer has its own isolated database, and customizing the platform for a new customer is setup work, not a development project. Earlier, I architected platforms in healthcare and financial services, including HIPAA-compliant application architecture and a core banking platform integration. I also built the original inventory system for a business that ran on it for about two decades. That business is now my first LineraFlow customer.
I built an information security program from the ground up for a company that had no formal program. It started with a SOC 2 Type 1 in 2022 and went on to three consecutive Type 2 audits. That's four audits, with zero findings.
I've been working with Azure since 2016. I led a full on-premises to Azure migration of a production SaaS platform: 4TB of SQL data and about 4,000 daily users, with near-zero downtime. I've designed Azure environments for two production SaaS platforms with multi-region high availability and zone redundancy. One of them was built Azure-native from the ground up, with per-customer database isolation.
Most companies hire separate people for those jobs. I've done them together, on the same platforms, which is why the fractional engagements cover all of them.
How I work
You work with me directly. There's no account manager and no handoff to junior staff. Engagements are part-time by design: a set number of days a month for ongoing leadership, or a fixed scope with a written deliverable. I'm based in Los Angeles. I work remotely, and on-site in the Los Angeles area.
LineraFlow
Linera Tech is also the home of LineraFlow, a multi-tenant inventory management platform I'm building with AI coding agents (Claude Code and Codex). It's live with its first customer. It's also where I test the AI governance practices I recommend to clients, on my own production code first.
